LOCTITE® 4902 - Bottle 10.0/case

Features and Benefits

A 1-part, low-viscosity instant adhesive formulated for demanding flexible bondlines that is ideal for applications in disposable medical device assemblies.
LOCTITE® 4902 is a highly flexible, low-viscosity instant adhesive. This formula offers significant performance enhancements, including increased strength in flexing bond lines and resistance to leaks with excellent sealing capability. It offers fixture times of 20 seconds and is well suited for the assembly of metals, elastomers and plastics, including difficult-to-bond materials (PP, PE, PTFE) when used with a primer such as LOCTITE® SF 7701. LOCTITE 4902 is tested to Henkel's ISO 10993 protocols for use in disposable medical devices.
  • High strength in flexing bond lines
  • Excellent sealing capability to prevent fluid leakages
  • Low viscosity
  • ISO-10993 biocompatible

How to

Step by Step Guide

1. Preparation - Cleaning

It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7070) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.

2. Preparation - Priming

To improve adhesion on difficult to bond plastic surfaces, apply LOCTITE® SF 7701 to the bond area by brushing or dipping. Avoid applying excess primer. Allow the primer to dry.

3. Preparation - Activation

If cure speed is too slow, use activator LOCTITE® SF 713 (see cure speed vs activator graph in TDS). Apply activator to one bond surface by spray, brush or dipping (not primed surfaces). Allow the activator to dry.

4. Application

Apply adhesive onto one side/part.

5. Assembly

Assemble parts immediately. The parts should be accurately located as the short fixture time leaves little opportunity for adjustment. Bond should be held or clamped until the adhesive has fixtured.Hint: if necessary, excess product can be cured by activator LOCTITE® SF 713. Spray or drop activator onto excess product.
