LOCTITE® HY 4090 Universal Structural Bonder
Known as LOCTITE 4090
Features and Benefits
A high viscosity, 2-part hybrid universal structural bonder with excellent humidity and vibration resistance.
LOCTITE® HY 4090 is a fast and powerful, high viscosity, off-white-to-light-yellow universal bonder. In the world of structural bonding, it is unique, combining strength and speed to provide powerful, long-lasting bonds. It has a fixture time of 90-180 seconds and is suitable for gaps up to 5mm (0.2"). Resistant to vibration, shock and impact, it works with a wide range of substrates. For best results, use with LOCTITE 50 ml Adhesive Mixing Nozzle, LOCTITE 400 ml Adhesive Mixing Nozzle, LOCTITE 96001, or LOCTITE 983439.
- Vibration, shock and impact resistant
- High temperature- and moisture-resistance
- UV-resistant for outdoor applications
- Fixture time: 90-180 secs

How to
Step by Step Guide
1. Preparation - Cleaning
It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7063 or SF 7070) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.
2. Preparation of Cartridge
Place cartridge in dispense gun. Remove cap from cartridge. Dispense a small amount so that material is coming out of both sides of cartridge. Attach mix nozzle and dispense a bead at least half of the length of the nozzle. The material is ready to use.
3. Application
Apply a bead of material to one of the surfaces to be bonded. Join the parts and fixture in a way to prevent movement of the part until handling strength is obtained.
