LOCTITE® 382

Features and Benefits

A 1-part, high-viscosity instant adhesive, well suited to electronics applications, e.g. wire tacking to coil forms, edge guides and stiffeners to circuit boards.
LOCTITE® 382 is a high-viscosity instant adhesive formulated for electronic applications, and has a fixture time of 20–40 seconds. It is ideal for wire tacking applications when used together with a LOCTITE accelerator. It is also suitable for rubbers, metals and plastics, including polyolefin and other difficult-to-bond plastics when used with LOCTITE® SF 770 primer – making it also a general purpose product.
  • For tacking wire to coil forms; tamper-proofing components; mounting stand-offs, edge guides and stiffeners to circuit boards
  • Bonds metals, elastomers, plastics including difficult-to-bond plastics when used with LOCTITE SF 770
  • General purpose
  • High viscosity

How to

Step by Step Guide

1. Preparation - Cleaning

It is recommended to use LOCTITE® SF 7063/7064 to clean and degrease surfaces prior to bonding. Ensure the cleaning solvent is compatible with the materials to be bonded and has dried prior to adhesive application.

2. Preparation - Activation

Apply LOCTITE®SF 7455 or LOCTITE® SF 7458 activator to the bond area, by spray, brush or dipping. Allow the activator time to evaporate, under good ventilation, until the surfaces are completely dry (approx. 15 to 30 seconds).

3. Application & Assembly

Apply LOCTITE® 382 to the bond area and assemble the parts. Where possible, move surfaces in relation to each other for a few seconds to distribute the adhesive and for maximum activation. Secure the assembly and await fixturing before any further handling. If necessary excess product can be cured by activator LOCTITE® SF 7455 or LOCTITE® SF 7458.
