LOCTITE® 567 - Tube 10.0/case High Temperature Thread Sealant

Known as Loctite 567 Thread Sealant

Features and Benefits

Available sizes:

This low strength, high-viscosity thread sealant is UL classified and ideal for tapered, coarse threads. It’s specially formulated to offer easy assembly and removal.
LOCTITE® 567 is a white, 1-part thread sealant designed for the locking and sealing of tapered metal pipe threads and fittings. As an anaerobic-curing thread sealant, it cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Its high lubricating properties prevent galling on stainless steel, aluminum and all other metal pipe threads, and allows ease of disassembly. The product offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance. And it tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids. Meets the performance requirements of KIWA GASTEC QA AR 214 for admixtures up to and including 100% hydrogen gas – certifications are available in select countries.
  • Ideal for metal pipes and fittings
  • Provides an instant low pressure seal
  • NSF/ANSI 61 certified for potable water systems
  • UL MH8007 & ULC MH27131 classified for natural gas systems
  • Meets KIWA GASTEC QA AR 214 performance requirements for hydrogen gas systems
  • 1-part: no mixing required
  • Doesn’t creep, shrink or block systems

How to

Step by Step Guide

1. Preparation - Cleaning

It is recommended to use LOCTITE® SF 7063 or LOCTITE® SF 7070 Cleaner & Degreaser to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying adhesive.

2. Preparation - Activation

If cure speed is too slow due to passive metals (stainless steel, aluminum and plated metals) or low temperatures (below 5°C), use LOCTITE® SF 7649 activator. Allow to dry.

3. Application

Starting one to two threads from leading edge of pipe, apply a 360° band to cover at least three thread roots. For bigger threads, apply both on male and female threads. (Recommended dispensing equipment: LOCTITE® Dial-a-Seal® Dispenser).

4. Assembly

Assemble fittings using wrench tightening in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations.

Disassembly

Disassemble with standard hand tools. If not possible, apply localized heat to approximately 500°F and disassemble while hot.
