TEROSON® EP 5075 SB High Impact-Resistant Structural Bonder
Features and Benefits
An epoxy-based, high strength, high impact-resistant adhesive used in car repair for structural bonding, to support impact durability and to replicate OEM production.
TEROSON® EP 5075 SB is a 2-component, high-strength, high impact-resistant, solvent-free, spacer beads containing, toughened epoxy resin-based adhesive. It is designed to meet the upgraded OEM impact resistance specifications, which require higher impact peel strength compared to conventional impact-resistant structural adhesives. It has high impact wedge peel strength at high and low temperatures (-40°C to +80°C), which means the adhesive provides high crash safety at a full temperature spectrum. When cured, it is hard but not brittle, to support the crash worthiness of the vehicle. It is made for professional applicators for use in the bonding of safety critical body parts, where the requirements for crash behavior are high. TEROSON® EP 5075 SB is equipped with color changing technology, indicating the stage of the curing process to provide maximum working comfort to the technicians during the operation. It contains glass beads (0.2mm) to provide uniform bond-line control, and provides excellent corrosion protection and high durability against fatigue and stress. The mixed compound has a ~60-minute processing time (23°C/73°F, 50% rh) and it reaches its initial strength (0,1MPa) in ~6 hours at 23°C (73°F). Full cure occurs at room temperature in 48 hours; curing can be accelerated via infrared heat at 60°C (140°F) for 2 hours or 80°C (176°F) for 45 minutes. Typical application areas are engine mounts, strut towers, radiator supports, A & B pillars, roof frame, rocker panel, wheel arch and safety-critical parts. It is necessary to use an application tool with piston rod, e.g., the TEROSON® ET STAKU Hand Dispenser or the TEROSON® ET Dispenser POWERLINE II. Surface preparation with TEROSON® VR 10 is recommended.
